Scotland education sector paves the way to net zero 2045 ambitions
Salix attends EAUC Scotland Winter Forum
The importance of sharing knowledge, constant learning and taking informed action in the sustainability space were key points discussed at this week’s EAUC Scotland Winter Forum.
Salix staff attended the conference, held on Wednesday 24 January, to listen to discussions between key stakeholders working towards Scotland’s net zero goals.
Held online via Zoom, the conference covered an array of topics, from sustainability resources to the role of audit, upcoming opportunities and celebrations for projects recognised for their recent successes in the sector.
The session brought together dozens of stakeholders from further and higher education organisations across Scotland to discuss key sustainability topics facing the sector.
Salix programme manager Maisie Loggie said: “It was great to hear more about what stakeholders linked to EAUC are doing in the sustainability space.
“The expertise and passion those in the sector have for leading by example and instilling climate-conscious values within their students is great.”

Participants included staff working in sustainability, estates, procurement and more, from institutions throughout Scotland. The breadth of attendees demonstrates just how embedded sustainability has become within occupations in the further and higher education industry.
Maisie added: “It is particularly exciting to see that organisations are sharing information, lessons and knowledge based on their experience with sustainability programmes and projects to date.
“By sharing these experiences with one-another, we ensure that future sustainability projects are more likely to be a success.”
