Assistant director Simon Pettett and programme manager Rebecca McNamara called their presentation, Decarbonising local authority buildings.
Simon explained how Salix works with local authorities on their net zero journey, managing the government funded schemes.
He said: “We are proud to have delivered £3.3billion worth of funding and thousands of projects on behalf of governments, working across the sectors to deliver innovative and creative solutions to climate change.
“Climate change is not standing still for any of us, and each of us must think about what more we can do to address the issues.
“Our collaborative approach means we can make change.”
We are proud to have delivered £3.3billion worth of funding and thousands of projects on behalf of governments, working across the sectors to deliver innovative and creative solutions to climate change.
Colleague and programme manager Rebecca McNamara was also able to focus on challenges and successes of the schemes and highlighted case studies.
Rebecca’s examples showed how low carbon heating systems and energy efficiency improvements have reduced carbon and helped create better places to work. These were taken from the projects we have supported over the years.
She said: “It’s a privilege to share our learnings as well as the challenges we face delivering for governments across the UK.”
Rebecca said: “Climate change impacts us all, and we have a responsibility to take action.
“Every day at Salix we are making a difference working across the country to instal positive energy efficiency measures as well as to share our learning.”
Also attending the event was team member and client support officer Zoe Wragg.
Zoe works with an organisation from the moment they have funding to the completion of a project.
She added: “It was really inspiring to see so many local authority organisations show a genuine interest in the important work we do here at Salix.
“It was even more rewarding to hear their own ambitions and plans to reach their own net zero targets thanks to the help of our schemes.
“Our job is to support organisations as they navigate what can be a complicated net zero journey.
“I look forward to collaborating with some of the local authorities here today in the near future, to support them in their journey to decarbonisation.
“Every project is different and faces unique challenges with unique solutions. It is an inspiring place to be despite the many issues we face.”
The March 20 conference, designed for public sector property professionals, invited around 120 delegates from local authorities and the wider public sector to attend.
The day also included a series of work sessions led by a mix of public and private sector presenters and encouraged interactivity.
